Tuesday blessings and prayers for the people you love
Asking God to bless our families, friends and coworkers as the week gathers pace
Morning Prayer editorial team ยท Updated: November 2026
Tuesday is the day the week truly gets moving, when the plans of Monday turn into real work and real conversations. Pray this blessing for yourself and for the people you will meet today, and let it carry you through the hours ahead.
Let us pray
Lord God, Father of every good gift, thank you for this Tuesday. Monday is behind me, and the rest of the week stretches out with its tasks, meetings, errands and small surprises. I place all of it in your hands before I take a single step.
Bless the people I love, Lord. Watch over my family as we scatter to our different places today. Give patience to those who are tired, courage to those who are anxious, and a quiet joy to those who feel forgotten. Where words at home were sharp yesterday, let them be kind today.
Jesus, you walked the roads of Galilee and noticed the people others passed by. Teach me to notice too. Bless my coworkers, my neighbours, the stranger at the checkout, the friend I keep meaning to call. Make me a small blessing in their day, through a word of encouragement, an honest answer or simply my attention.
Holy Spirit, steady me in the middle of the work. When the list grows long and my strength runs short, remind me that I do not carry the day alone. Give me wisdom for decisions, humility when I am wrong, and the grace to finish well what I have started.
And when evening comes, gather us all safely home. Let us look back on this Tuesday and recognise your hand in it, in what went well and even in what did not. May everything I do today give you glory.
Amen.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pray this Tuesday blessing for someone else?
Yes. You can pray it on behalf of a family member or friend, or send it to them as an encouragement. Naming them quietly before God as you pray is a simple act of love.
Is there a traditional Catholic devotion for Tuesday?
In many Catholic traditions Tuesday is associated with the holy angels, and the Church also encourages a daily rhythm of morning offering, grace at meals and an evening examination of conscience. Any sincere prayer offered to God is a good way to begin the day.
When is the best time to pray a Tuesday prayer?
Many people pray it in the morning before work or school, but it can be prayed at lunchtime or on the commute as well. What matters is pausing to entrust the day and the people in it to God.
