You have prepared your answers and chosen your clothes. Now prepare your heart. Pray this the night before and again in the parking lot, and go in knowing you are not alone.
Let us pray
Lord, I have an interview, and I am nervous. I have done what I can: I have studied, I have practiced, I have prayed. Now I ask You to do what only You can.
Calm my nerves. Let me breathe slowly and think clearly. Give me the right words at the right time, and keep me from rambling when I am anxious. Help me to listen well and to answer honestly.
Let them see who I really am: my abilities, my work ethic, my willingness to learn. Keep me from pretending to be someone I am not. If this is the place You want me, let that be clear to them and to me.
Give me humility and confidence in the right measure. Remind me that my worth does not depend on this job. I am Your child whether they hire me or not.
Lord, I want this position, but I want Your will more. If this is not the door, close it gently and show me the next one. If it is, open it wide. I trust that You know where my gifts are needed.
Saint Joseph, patron of workers, pray for me. You worked with your hands and provided for the Holy Family. Help me to find work that provides for mine.
I place this interview in Your hands, Lord. Whatever happens, I will thank You. Amen.
