Let us pray
Creator God, today marks another year of the life You gave. Before the cake and the candles and the messages, I want to stop and say thank You.
Thank You for every year so far: the ones that were easy and the ones that were hard, the ones full of celebration and the ones I was glad to see end. You were in all of them. You have brought me this far, and You have not finished with me yet.
Thank You for the people who have walked with me: family who were there from the first day, friends who arrived along the way, and the ones who have already gone ahead to You. Each of them is a chapter in the story You are writing.
I ask Your blessing on the year ahead. Give me health of body and clarity of mind. Give me work that matters and rest that restores. Give me courage to try what I have been putting off and wisdom to let go of what is not mine to carry.
Deepen my faith this year. Let me know You better at the next birthday than I do at this one.
If this year holds sorrow, hold me close. If it holds joy, let me share it. Whatever it holds, let it bring me nearer to You.
Lord, You numbered my days before one of them came to be. Thank You for this one. Make it holy, and make me grateful. Amen.
