Morning prayer
Asking for a shepherd's heart, strength and protection for the day ahead
Take a quiet moment before the day begins. Offer your work, your relationships and your worries to God, and ask him to walk with you through every hour.
Good and faithful Father, thank you for waking me to this Wednesday morning. Before the messages, the coffee and the list of tasks begin to pull at me, I give you the first breath of this day and the quiet gratitude of simply being alive.
In this green season of Ordinary Time, teach me to find you in ordinary things: the work waiting on my desk or in my hands, the conversations I will have, the meals I will share. I offer you every hour ahead. Bless the people I love, the colleagues who test my patience, and anyone I will meet by chance today.
Lord Jesus, you said, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11). Today we remember Saint Charles Borromeo, a bishop who spent himself caring for his people in Milan. Through his prayers, give me a shepherd's heart in small things: to listen before I answer, to carry part of someone else's burden, to choose kindness when I am tired.
Saint Joseph, quiet guardian of the Holy Family, pray that I may work honestly and protect those entrusted to me. Holy Spirit, be my strength when the day grows heavy, and keep me safe in body and soul as I travel, work and rest.
In this month of November, I also hold before you all who have died, especially those I miss. Grant them light and peace, and let their memory make me more loving today.
Amen.
Blessing
May the Good Shepherd go before you and guard your steps today. May Saint Joseph watch over your work and your home, and may the peace of the Holy Spirit remain with you until evening.

Midday prayer
A pause at noon to rest in God, renew our purpose and grow in patience with others
Step away from your work for a few quiet moments. Breathe, let the noise settle, and pray these words with the shepherd who knows you by name.
Lord Jesus, here in the middle of this Wednesday I set down what I am holding for a moment: the half-finished task, the messages still waiting, the list that has grown longer since morning. You know where my strength has gone and where it has run thin. Steady me in this pause, and give back to me the reason I began this day.
You told us, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." (John 10:11). Today the Church remembers Saint Charles Borromeo, the bishop of Milan who spent himself caring for the people entrusted to him. Teach me to lay down something small for those around me this afternoon: my need to be right, my hurry, my irritation with the colleague who interrupts or the relative who calls at the wrong moment. Let patience be my quiet offering.
Saint Joseph, to whom Wednesdays are traditionally entrusted, faithful worker who trusted God without seeing the whole road, help me take up the rest of my duties with honest hands and a calm heart. What I cannot finish, I leave in the Father's providence.
In this month of remembering, I also bring before you those who have died, especially the ones whose absence I feel at the table and in my thoughts. Grant them rest and light in your presence, and keep me close to the communion of saints as I return to work.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, walk with me through the hours that remain. Amen.
Blessing
May the Good Shepherd guide your steps through this afternoon and give you patience for every person you meet. Through the prayers of Saint Charles Borromeo and Saint Joseph, may you rest in the Father's care and finish this day in peace.

Evening prayer
Thanksgiving, honest reflection, mercy and peaceful rest at the close of Wednesday
Before you sleep, set down the weight of the day and pause with the Lord. Pray these words slowly, letting him show you both his gifts and your need of his mercy.
Lord Jesus, as this Wednesday draws to its close, I come back to you with a grateful heart. Thank you for the work my hands could do, for the meals shared, for the conversations that lifted me, and even for the small tasks that tested my patience. Every good thing I received today came from your kindness.
You told us, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11). Today the Church remembers Saint Charles Borromeo, the bishop of Milan who spent himself renewing and caring for his people. Let his example search my heart gently. Where was I quick to speak and slow to listen? Where did I put my own comfort before someone who needed me?
Father of mercy, forgive the words that wounded and the love I held back. Give me the grace to forgive those who hurt me today, and to let go of resentment before I sleep. Let no grudge follow me into the night.
In this month of November, I entrust to you all the faithful departed, especially those I miss most. Grant them rest in your light. Saint Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, watch over my home and everyone I love tonight.
Holy Spirit, quiet my worries and the unfinished business of tomorrow. Let me rest in the care of the Shepherd who knows me by name, and wake me ready to serve. Amen.
Blessing
May the Good Shepherd keep watch over you through the night and lead you safely into a new day. May Saint Joseph guard your home, and may the Lord grant eternal rest to all you hold in prayer.
