Miracle healing prayer: asking boldly, trusting completely
Asks Jesus for a miraculous healing while placing the outcome in the Father's loving hands
Morning Prayer editorial team · Updated: November 2026
When the doctors have done what they can and hope feels thin, Christians have always brought their sick to Jesus and asked Him for more. Pray this when you want to ask for a miracle of healing with courage, while learning to rest your heart in God whatever the answer.
Let us pray
Lord Jesus, You walked the roads of Galilee and the sick were carried to You from every village. You did not turn away the leper who knelt before You, nor the woman who reached out in the crowd just to touch the edge of Your cloak. I come to You in that same crowd today, reaching out with whatever faith I have.
I ask You plainly for a miracle of healing for [name / myself]. You know the illness, the fear, the long nights and the waiting for news. Nothing is hidden from You, and nothing is too hard for You. If it is Your will, speak the word and restore this body to health.
Give me the boldness of the friends who lowered a man through a roof to reach You, and the humility to let You answer in Your own way. Where I cannot see a path, be the path. Where strength is failing, be the strength. Bless the hands of every doctor, nurse and caregiver, and let them serve with skill and gentleness.
Holy Spirit, guard my heart from despair and from bargaining. Teach me to pray as Jesus prayed in the garden: honest about what I long for, and trusting the Father with what comes next. Heal whatever is wounded within us too, the fear, the resentment, the loneliness.
Father of mercy, I place this hope in Your hands, which never let go of Your children. Whether healing comes quickly, slowly, or in a way I do not expect, keep us close to You, and let us see Your goodness at work. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blessing
May the Lord who healed the sick by the roadside draw near to you now, and may His peace hold you steady while you wait and hope.

Frequently asked questions
Is it right to pray for a miraculous healing?
Yes. The Gospels show many people asking Jesus for healing, and the Church has always encouraged prayer for the sick. We ask with confidence, while trusting God's wisdom about how and when He answers.
What if the healing I pray for does not come?
God hears every prayer, even when the answer is not the one we hoped for. Keep praying, stay close to the sacraments, especially the Anointing of the Sick, and let others pray with you. God's care never ends, in this life or the next.
Should I still follow medical treatment while praying for a miracle?
Yes. Prayer and medical care go together; God often works through doctors and medicine. Praying for a miracle never means refusing the help He places in front of you.
